Important Information:
HERITAGE TOURS has been in existence since 1976. It has grown into a full-time business of planning and guiding tours in the U.S. and abroad. Our best references are the people who have traveled with us. Please contact the office for a list of references.
OFFICE HOURS are normally 9:00am to 4:00pm Monday - Friday.
EMERGENCY NUMBER: 620-960-4007
RESERVATIONS should be made as soon as possible. Your seat is reserved when the reservation form and the deposit for each person are received. Most tours require a $100 deposit per person; tours with flights require more. Please refer to the catalog for details. Your deposit will be applied to the final payment of the tour. About 7 weeks before the tour departs, you will receive a list of passengers, an itinerary with addresses and phone numbers of hotels, and a request for final payment.
CANCELLATIONS: A full refund will be given for cancellations made 35 days prior to departure on most tours. Certain tours may require different cancellation dates, please refer to the tour details in the catalog.
TRAVEL PROTECTION: We encourage you to purchase a travel protection plan. Some policies (cancel for any reason) require purchase within 14 days of your deposit. You may check with an insurance company of your choice or we recommend the one listed above.
DEPARTURE AND RETURN POINT for all tours is Yoder, Kansas. Parking is available behind our office in Yoder. If you wish to make prior arrangements for a pick-up along the route, we will certainly try and work with you.
MOTORCOACHES: We use modern coaches which are clean, temperature controlled, equipped with a restroom, public address system, free Wi-Fi (in the US), electrical outlets, and reclining seats designed for your comfort. Ample rest stops are made. To give everyone a variety of views and have the opportunity of meeting other tour members, we rotate seats on a predetermined basis. We start our day with a brief thought for the day and prayer. We encourage you to share readings, poems, songs, jokes, or anything else with the group, which helps make our tours an enjoyable experience. For passenger safety and comfort, smoking, firearms, and open containers of alcohol are not allowed on the motorcoach.
TOUR PRICE INCLUDES transportation, lodging, admission to planned attractions, tips for step-on guides, and stated meals.
TOUR PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE items of a personal nature, meals (unless stated in the catalog), attractions which you visit on your own, and tips to your driver or tour manager.
LODGING: We select clean, moderately priced accommodations such as Drury, Hampton, Holiday Inn, Best Western. Our prices are based on two people in a room. Those who stay three or four to a room will be given a discount. For one person in a hotel room, there is an additional supplement. Traveling singly does not guarantee a seat by yourself on the motorcoach.
LUGGAGE: Each passenger is allowed one large piece of luggage, not to exceed 50 lbs, which will be handled for you at some of the hotels. You will be responsible to handle your carry-on luggage. At airports, you will be responsible for all of your luggage.
MEALS: All our meal stops are prearranged. Included meals are indicated by a B, L, or D at the end of each day in the catalog description. B means breakfast is included, L is for lunch and D is for dinner (evening meal).
CLOTHING: Keep it casual. Dress clothes are not necessary unless specified in the plans. Comfortable walking shoes are very important for our sightseeing activities. Layered clothing makes it easy to adjust to varying temperatures. A rain poncho, light raincoat, or umbrella are always advisable. Remember to travel light; don’t overpack!
TOUR MANAGERS: Managers are carefully chosen for their ability to serve you with the same interest and care as you have come to expect and deserve. Our primary concern is to make sure that you receive all services as outlined and that you are satisfied and ENJOY your tour.
TIPPING: Your tour manager will take care of tipping included meal wait-staff and step-on guides. If you wish to tip your driver or tour manager for a job well done, you many present it on an individual basis.
HEALTH REQUIREMENTS: Walking and periods of standing are part of most tours. Travelers should be able to walk 10-15 minutes without resting, climb a short set of stairs or inclines without stopping, stand for 30 minutes without sitting down, and be able to get in and out of transportation unassisted (bus, boat, train, plane, etc) on most tours. Children should be at least seven years old to travel (unless otherwise stated).
TRAVELERS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS: Heritage Tours will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the special needs of our travelers. However, those with special needs that require assistance must be accompanied by a companion who is capable of and responsible for providing assistance. Heritage Tours staff may not lift or physically assist travelers. Special requests must be made at the time of reservation.
TOUR PARTICIPATION: Heritage Tours retains the right to terminate the participation of any traveler at his/her expense if a physical or mental handicap becomes apparent during the tour and causes hardship to the Tour Manager or other tour members. This decision is at the discretion of the tour manager.
MEMBERSHIP: We are pleased to be a member of the American Bus Association (ABA), which takes pride in integrity in the tourism industry. Our membership ensures that you are traveling with a reputable and established company. Being part of ABA guarantees that we have met their stringent professional guidelines.
GIFT CERTIFICATES are available from Heritage Tours. If you have that hard-to-buy-for person on your list, or maybe you ARE that person, consider a tour gift certificate. You pick the amount and it may be applied towards any tour – there is NO wrong color or size!
RESPONSIBILITY: Heritage Tours and its employees accept no responsibility for any loss, damage, delay, or injury to persons or property. We reserve the right to increase or decrease the fares if the hotels, attractions, or the carriers do so. If unforeseen changes become necessary or improvements can be made, we reserve the right to change or modify any part of the tour. In case any show or event has to be canceled, we attempt to substitute something of equal or better value.
